The Premiership. Is it worth it?

The Premiership - The Best League In The World (?)
Every football fan wants to see their team playing in the Premiership - but is it all its made out to be. With the lovely Leicester City hoping for promotion next season i am trying to invisage what may be in store for myself and the rest of us foxes come 2012/2013 season.

1. Football, the fans game, well, thats what they try to tell us. In reality, if we get promoted we'll infact be punished for following our team through the good and the bad - really really bad in some cases - by the crazy price increases across season ticket and away ticket prices

I dread to think the prices of the 'big matches' everyone will look forward to like Manchester United away. Being a student, this is not a nice prospect. I mean, i went to 2 matches last season paying just £1 cant see Man City offering that.

2. The Championship has to be one of the most unpredictable leagues in the world. Being a Leicester fan inconsistency is second nature and every season shock results after shock results go on in our great league. Its why we love it & definitely gets everyone talking. But you then look at the premiership, predictions are MUCH easier.

Arsenal vs Spurs will be high scoring good games where as games like Wigan vs Blackburn arent likely to be 'classics'. You know what teams will be up and aound the top 6 and roughly teams that will be facing the chop, where is the variation?

3. Top Club decision dominance. Every year you hear fans of teams like Wolves complaining about teams like Chelsea, Manchester United especially when at home being overly preferred by referees when making decisions. Penalties given for, penalites not given against, bookings when clearly sending off offences occur. etc. etc. etc.

Us Leicester fans know better than most referees give bad decision after bad decision against us (not a clue what we have done to deserve it) and that is at the Walkers, what hope do we have if referee's knowingly favour 'big teams'

4. What 'good days out' are you gonna have in the premiership? Being a Leicester fan we'd be leaving Forest, Derby, Cov behind us so no 'local rivalries' but at least time to laugh at their failures. & teams like Brighton, Blackpool, Southampton - no fun seaside trips. Instead we'd be looking to trips to the North (its grim up there y'know) to places like Bolton and Blackburn. EXCITING.

Now heading from all the doom and gloom. I've had a think and even with all these badtimes; things which make me currently say 'the championship is where its at' lets be serious; all this would SO be worth it.

To see my club have real success and sustain themselves back where they belong? PRICELESS. & imagine the promotion party! Whilst we are in the championship i will defend this more exciting, cheaper generally kooler league but as soon as we make it into the Prem i will gloat and enjoy myself thoroughly, even if i am poor.

The best thing that could happen is:
1. Prem teams have massive price reductions
2. All the teams suddenly become more inconsistent and exciting.
3. Referees learn how to referee.
4. Seaside teams get promoted then get automatic derby days for cup draws.

In reality i'll stick with an LCFC promotion and me being allowed to moan a hell of a lot come mid way through are season in the prem when everything is going wrong and sven has left for more money.

pessimistic/realistic. there is a very fine line.

I would like comments, guidance, views, abuse, anything you can be bothered. kthanksbye :)
